Uruguayan Notary’s Income Certificate

A Uruguayan Notary’s Income Certificate is required to prove foreign sources of income.

These are the required documents:

  1. Passport
  2. Uruguayan ID card (front and back)
  3. Proof of address (Uruguayan utility bill)
  4. Proof of income12
  5. Proof of deposits into foreign bank account (foreign bank statement).
  6. Proof of transfers from foreign bank account to Uruguayan bank account (Uruguayan bank statement).
  7. Proof of use of funds in Uruguay for 90 days (Uruguayan bank statement).
  8. Uruguayan bank reference letter citing the owner’s accounts.
  9. Uruguayan Marriage Certificate to prove marital tie towards joint income (if applicable).³
  10. Uruguayan Birth Certificate to prove parental relationship towards income coverage for a minor dependent (if applicable).³

¹The resulting income must be over a Uruguayan minimum wage per person.

³Any marital or parental ties proven for income coverage purposes must also be officially declared through a sworn statement composed by Immigration and signed at one of their 17 field offices.

This is the required information from the applicant, their source of income and use of said funds:

  • Full name
  • Nationality
  • Civil status
  • Uruguayan ID card number
  • Uruguayan Immigration file number
  • Passport
  • Full address in Uruguay
  • All the information above for every dependent
  • All the information on the WORK LETTER (employee), CPA INCOME CERTIFICATE (business owners) or CPA INCOME CERTIFICATE (rental income).
  • Use of funds in Uruguay:
    • Foreign bank account information and bank branch address or location
    • Uruguayan bank account information
    • Uruguayan debit card brand and last 4 digits
    • Clarification that the applicant receives their monthly income, wire the money to their Uruguayan account and use their debit card for essential services (rent, utilities, education, medical services, etc) and ATM withdrawals.
  • Relationship with dependent based on Uruguayan Marriage/Birth Certificate
  • Explicit clarification that the breadwinner/s takes responsibility for their dependent’s income and that they live together in the same Uruguayan address.
