Access legal aid

An interpreter can help you navigate Uruguay’s legal system by getting you in touch with the authorities (police, state attorney’s office, domestic violence unit, internal affairs, etc), legal aid offices (University of the Republic (Udelar), Welfare Ministry (MIDES), Zonta (domestic and gender violence NGO), Public Defender’s Office, etc) and private attorneys (international law, family law, labor law, criminal law, etc).

I offer the following services:

  • Interpreting and scheduling assistance with local offices.
  • Filing or amending law enforcement report.
  • Social Security (BPS) user setup to verify payroll tax contributions.
  • Procurement of Uruguayan translator and notary documents.
  • Access government sponsored healthcare (if applicable).
  • Access governmental aid (if applicable).
  • Court interpreting (if applicable).
  • Private attorney referrals.

My services are available nationwide.

Cost: 100 USD / 4000 UYU (100% up-front) or an hourly 25 USD / 1000 UYU rate.¹

¹The package fee covers up to 4 certificate registrations, every additional certificate registration will cost 25 USD (package fee, 100% up-front).

⁴The hourly fee will increase to 50 USD / 2000 UYU starting on Thursday, June 1st, 2025.
