Visa

Nationals from 113 different countries require a visa to enter Uruguay as of March 30th, 2023. You must contact your nearest Uruguayan Consulate via email to receive the form in the specific format used by your corresponding consulate, fill it, sign it and send the required documents (they must come separately in PDF format) applicable in your case.

All of the following services are included:

    • Visa application form
    • Clear copy or scan of valid passport.
    • Residency permit (if the applicant was not born in the country they are applying from).
    • Passport size photograph.
    • Proof of sufficient financial means (six month bank statements less than 30 days old).
    • Proof of accommodation (hotel/motel reservation or personal invitation letter).
    • Flight reservation.
    • Authorization and passports from parents/guardians of minor applicant (if applicable).
    • Police Clearance Certificate + Apostille/Legalization (less than 6 months old).
    • Letter from employer (if applicable).
    • Valid business registration documents for self-employed applicant (if applicable).
    • Letter from academic institution and proof of enrollment (if applicable).
    • Letter from applicant (it must also mention any planned trips to South America or visas from that region, if applicable).
    • Copies of previous granted visas.
    • Letter of invitation to conference/seminar (if applicable).
    • Letter from employer or Uruguayan government if the applicant will set up a business in Uruguay (if applicable).
    • Job Promise Note from Uruguayan entity (if applicable).
    • Passport from parents, spouses, minor unmarried children or adults with disabilities (if applying for family reunification), Marriage/Birth Certificate + Apostille/Legalization and up to date Uruguayan ID card of sponsor (if applicable).
    • Supporting documentation (as applicable in special/urgent/humanitarian circumstances).
